Two Postdoc-Fellowships in Sociology, Anthropology, and Agricultural Innovation with Teagasc - deadline April 7
The IASC would like to draw your attention to two post-doc fellowships that may be of interest to you as IASC-member. Teagasc – the Agriculture and Food Development Authority – is the Irish national body providing integrated research, advisory and training services to the agriculture and food industry and rural communities. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will undertake sociological research on themes such as cooperation, power, governance and gender, and will apply sociological theory to undertake desk-studies and field research on ‘short food supply chains’ (SFSCs), with a particular emphasis on ‘values based supply chains’ (VBSCs).
Qualitative and participatory methodologies will be used for empirical fieldwork, the results of which will be written up in the form of material for policy-makers and rural professionals, and journal articles. The successful candidate will be based at Teagasc’s Department of Spatial Analysis & Agri-Food Innovation at the Rural Economy Development Programme, Athenry. S/he will work within the communities of two EU Horizon 2020 project consortia involving 40 partners, the SKIN and CERERE projects.
