The IASC is looking for assistance to help develop more effective communications regarding commons issues, and to raise the profile of IASC events more widely.

IASC is in a unique position in its capacity to incorporate academic researchers and practitioners, enabling recent research to reach a wider audience, and creating wider appreciation of the economic, cultural and political contexts within which practitioners operate in the management and governance of commons.

The Association has made significant advances in communicating ideas through development of the Commons Digest, the International Journal of the Commons, and improvements to the website. However, the ‘commons’ message is a complex one that requires explanation and deeper learning to be effective.

IASC is currently building a communications strategy to reach a number of different audiences including, members, non-members, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and the wider public.  We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with a knowledge of commons to be part of this process.

If you have an interest in helping the Association develop more effective means of communication, or in helping us to use the website and social media to manage the flow of material, we would like to hear from you. Please get in touch with either the IASC Executive Director, René van Weeren, or the IASC President, John Powell, via the IASC Secretariat:
