Hosting these conferences are an excellent way to put your institution into the spotlights of commons' practitioners and researchers.

New online commons course 'From source to sea - governance of water resources' launched

CCRI has launched a new course in the online courses series of ‘Commons Management & Governance’, a series of on-line short courses, focusing on different aspects of commons: their management, governance and sustainability. The theme of this new course, running May 15, 2017 - June 23, 2017, and issued under the auspices of the International Association for the Study of the Commons (IASC), will be 'From source to sea - Governance of water resources'.

Online commons course 'Managing our common resources' starts March 13!

On March 13, 2017, the online commons course 'Managing our common resources', organized by CCRI will start; the course will run until April 28, 2017. This course will be delivered through distance-learning approaches, making use of video and audio materials, readings, on-line activities, and group discussion forums, enabling participants to learn from one another as well as from the tutors.

Workshop 'The Study of Cooperatives' - Humboldt University Berlin, March 27-30, 2017

On March 27-30, 2017, IASC-member Professor Markus Hanisch, Chair of ‘Economics of Agricultural Cooperatives’ at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, together with partners from Wageningen, Athens, and Saskatchewan University will organize the Workshop ‘The Study of Cooperatives’. The objective of the workshop is to give orientation to early-career social scientists interested in the study of cooperation and cooperative organizations. The aim is to provide training and a forum for networking and discussion on methodical strengths and weaknesses for the study of cooperative organizations.

EXTENDED DEADLINE Call for Proposals Hosting IASC 2019 Biennial Conference - deadline for proposals March 15, 2017

The International Association for the Study of the Commons (IASC) is now accepting preliminary proposals from individuals/organizations interested in HOSTING our 17th Biennial Conference in 2019.

IASC Biennial Conferences bring together commons scholars and practitioners from around the world. While the preparations for the XVI Biennial Conference of the IASC (Utrecht, 10-14 July 2017) are already in full swing, the IASC Secretariat is already looking for enthusiastic organizers for the 2019 Biennial Conference. Proposals should be in before March 15, 2017.

Call for Papers and Panels 9th MARE People & The Sea Conference (Amsterdam, July 5-7, 2017) - deadline January 31, 2017

On July 5-7, 2017, the 9th MARE People & the Sea Conference will take place in Amsterdam. This year’s theme is 'Dealing with Maritime Mobilities'. Deadline for panel, paper proposals and other conference formats: January 31st, 2017 (GMT). The conference will be preceded by a Policy Day on July 4.

Call for (Contributions to) Practitioners' Labs IASC2017 Conference 'Practicing the Commons' - deadline March 31, 2017

The organizers of the XVI Biennial IASC-Conference ‘Practicing the Commons: Self-Governance, Cooperation, and Institutional Change’ (Utrecht, 10-14 July 2017), hosted by the Institutions for Collective Action- research team and the Strategic Theme Institutions for Open Societies of Utrecht University, today have issued a Call for Contributions to Practitioners' Labs. Proposals can be submitted via the Conference Module starting today; final deadline is March 31, 2017.

New special issue International Journal of the Commons out now

Editors-in-Chief Frank van Laerhoven and Michael Schoon are pleased to announce the publication of Volume 10, Issue 2, of the International Journal of the Commons. This issue contains no less than three special issues of papers, apart from the regular research papers and book reviews.
